Back In the Saddle

I have taken a year off from writing on this blog in an attempt to experience life and find experiences that I can share with all that read this. Where do I start, I started writing and reading poems on stage during an open mic comedy night a few months after this post during which time I was in the process of moving from one place to another (that whole experience is a blog by it's self). Needless to say, that was an experience with in it's self going out was a difficult experience pouring out my soul to strangers in the audience and comedians that were there to laugh and have a good time. At first, very few of them had anything to say to me or comedians would get on right after I finished and make fun of the poems that I had just written. But unlike the "D" of previous existence I kept going and reading poems which lead to me giving stand up comedy a try. It was rough in the beginning doing stand up in front of guys and girls that had been doing comedy for a few years, and yet there I stood a newcomer and not knowing at all what the hell I was doing. I has been a year for me since those prior uncomfortable moments on stage and persistence pays off because I just had my best set last week while competing in a comedy contest, the two winners get to open for a well known comic at the end of July.
